Buyer protection
Last updated 12 August 2026
Trade Mongo is a marketplace, which means the underlying purchase contract is between the buyer and the supplier. That said, we take several steps to reduce the risk you take when you initiate a deal through the platform.
Before you engage
- Every supplier is verified. We check GSTIN, PAN, and business documents before a profile goes live. See How verification works.
- Trust scores are computed, not claimed. Ratings are based on verification depth, RFQ response history, and platform tenure — not self-declared claims.
- Trending abuse patterns are flagged. Suppliers with repeated buyer complaints or fraudulent behaviour are removed from search and, where warranted, referred to law enforcement.
During a transaction
- Structured RFQs. Every conversation is scoped by an RFQ with a quantity, delivery expectation, and quote reference — no vague back-and-forth.
- In-platform quote history. Both parties see the full quote thread, so there is no "he said, she said" if terms are disputed later.
If something goes wrong
- Raise a dispute from your RFQ dashboard within 30 days of the transaction. Our team reviews the correspondence and the supplier's verification record.
- Grievance escalation. Unresolved disputes can be escalated to our grievance officer at [email protected]. See our Trust & safety page for the full escalation ladder.
What buyer protection does not cover
- Product quality claims that were not documented in the RFQ or the accepted quote.
- Contracts finalised outside the platform (offline calls, direct email, etc.) — we cannot mediate what we cannot see.
- Payment disputes on rails outside the platform (bank transfers, cash) — resolve those through your bank / RBI ombudsman.
